TAMAGAWA 花火大會

TAMAGAWA花火大會 was amazing!!!

Imagine being at a place with nonstop fireworks for a full hour! Summer is like the endless firework season in Japan, i've heard of those hanamitaikai before, some of us went to the other ones which were held last week but i didn't go. I figured it will be just the same as watching it at home, since everything is on TV. But being there, physically, totally change my perspective of things. It is defiantly a lot prettier and more interesting to see it in person!

However, i was kind of shocked when i got to the station.. I was expecting there to be alot of people, but not THIS MUCH. It's like i'm back in china~ people move in crowds, and you just need to grab on to your friends and make sure you guys are close to each other.. since it's very easy for you to loose them in the crowd....

they also sell food in the firework places.. lots and lots of food to be exact. I was debating between takoyaki or this.. i ended up getting this though cause i never had it before :P

The 花火大會 started at exactly 7pm and ended at 8pm. We saw fireworks of doraemon, smiley faces, and waterlemon~ originally we wanted to get to tamagawa wat 5pm to avoid the human traffic, but dressing up in the  Yukata took longer than expected... my hair took me at least thirty minutes, and my yukata took another forty min to dress up >''<....
My friends home stay mom was nice enough to lend me one of her daughters Yukata and her shoes. She was yanking at my Yukata for so long, telling us that it is harder to put yukata on skinny girls because we need like four ropes inside to tie it up. She ended up giving me another wrapped around thing to make sure that the rope would stay, and that my Yukata bow in the back won't fall.
We found a spot to sit on when we got to the place, but since it was packed and some places were taped off, we were forced to sit on a land slide. I had such a hard time keeping my balance, i ended up putting all my weight on my friend, since he's wearing running shoes and evidently doesnt have any problem walking... (it is so hard to walk in a yukuta, esp when you're wearing one of those traditional wooden shoes.. i dont know how girls walk back in the days when they had to wear it everyday!)
After the fireworks we followed the crowd.. and managed to make our way to the farther station (the station at tamagawa was packed with people, we didn't want to wait so we chose to walk)... it took us 30 minutes to get out of the firework area, and another 2 hours to walk to the station. By the time i got home.. it was already 10.45pm. I ended up slamming myself on my bed after my shower.. and i didn't even bother to blow dry my hair.... :P whattt a dayyy >''<~
